Why this order
The television series is two seasons and they are one story: Lelouch of the Rebellion, then R2. Watch those and you have seen Code Geass.
The trap is what comes after. The three 2017–18 films are not a sequel — they are the same two seasons recut into about six hours, with some events changed. They exist to set up Lelouch of the Re;surrection, and Re;surrection follows the *film* continuity rather than the series. If you watch the two seasons and then jump straight to Re;surrection you will find it contradicts the ending you just saw, which is the single most common complaint about this franchise. Either watch the films first and treat Re;surrection as their sequel, or stop after R2 and treat R2's ending as the ending.
Rozé of the Recapture is a separate 2024 story with a new cast, set after R2 in the series continuity. It needs both seasons and nothing else. The picture dramas are audio comedy shorts with no bearing on anything.
